Mumbai City FC signs Serbian defender Lazar Ćirković

Mumbai City FC has signed Serbian centre-back Lazar Ćirković on a one-year contract. The Indian Super League club announced the deal on September 8, 2026, ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Ćirković becomes the eighth new arrival for Mumbai City during this transfer window. The club's other signings are Wilmar Jordán Gil, Sergio Llamas, Carlos Delgado, Leandro Otormín, Hridaya Jain, Ashish Sibi, and Muhammed Ajsal.

Career Journey

Lazar Ćirković began his professional career in 2010 with Serbian SuperLiga club Rad. He also spent time on loan at Serbian League side Palić.

In 2014, he joined Serbian giants Partizan. He made his official debut for Partizan in a UEFA Europa League match against Tottenham Hotspur. During four years there, he won two Serbian SuperLiga titles and one Serbian Cup.

His career then took him across Europe. He played for Luzern in Switzerland, Maccabi Netanya in Israel, and Kisvárda and Honvéd in Hungary.

The defender moved to India to join Chennaiyin FC. In his debut ISL season, he played a important role in helping the club secure a playoff place. This performance earned him a move to Jamshedpur FC the following season. At Jamshedpur, he delivered consistent performances and helped the team reach the semi-finals.

At international level, Ćirković made his competitive debut for the Serbia Under-21 team in 2013. He featured in a home victory over Northern Ireland. He represented the side intermittently until 2015 and was part of Serbia's squad for the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
