India’s junior cricket setup is set for another important assignment as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India U19 squads for the upcoming Australia U19 tour of India.
The series will provide several opportunities to youngsters who are aiming to gain experience against a stronger Australian side.
India will play three One-Day matches and two multi-day fixtures against Australia U19. The three ODIs will be held in Rajkot, while the final multi-day fixture will take place in Ahmedabad.
Aaryavir Sehwag named, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi misses out in India U19 squad for Australia series
One of the most notable names in the Indian Under-19 One-Day squad is Aaryavir Sehwag, the son of legendary Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag. He has been named in India’s 15-member squad led by Lakshya Raichandani, with Yashbardhan Chauhan named vice-captain.
However, what remains the highlight of the squad is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, as he does not feature in either of the squads announced for the upcoming series. The One-Day squad also includes wicketkeepers Rajat Baghel and Anvay Dravid, along with V.K. Vineet, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan and several other promising youngsters.

He has an extensive record in youth cricket, scoring over 1,600 runs in India Under-19 Youth ODIs.
